About Us
Carol, Principal of The Yamartino Group LLC, is an executive coach and leadership development expert with 20 years experience in the life sciences industry and a specialization in biotechnology. She works with Corporate, non-profit and private clients. Her practice focuses on leadership development, talent management, program design and delivery, peer coaching and mentoring, women’s development, team effectiveness and meeting facilitation.
Carol spent over 14 years with Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc, most recently as the Senior Director of Learning & Development where she was responsible for leadership development, succession planning, key talent initiatives including executive coaching, and women’s development. Carol was a member of the Merger & Acquisition team while at Millennium providing integration support and employee communication strategy development on five acquisitions and three restructurings. As the Director of Mentoring for the Boston Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswoman’s Association (HBA), Carol has designed, developed and delivered a successful group mentoring program. Over 175 women have participated and the program has become a national model for women’s development. Carol is previously a member of the Global HBA Advisory Board. Currently, she is the President –Elect for the HBA Boston Chapter for 2009.
She is certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Step II and is a trainer in the Waterline Peer Coaching program and Situational Leadership II. Carol is a facilitator for the Boston Women Unlimited, Inc development programs, a nationally recognized resource for cultivating excellence for high potential women.
Carol is a member of the American Society of Training and Development, the Human Resources Leadership Forum, the Boston University Executive Development Roundtable and the HBA. She is a graduate of the Executive Coaching Graduate Certificate program at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychologists. She has a BA in Psychology from Stonehill College and has taken courses in Adult and Organizational Learning at Suffolk University. Previously she held positions with Collaborative Research (now Oscient Pharmaceuticals), The Whitehead Institute, VNA of South Shore and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
